  7. Breastfeeding and Pacifier Use: Breastfeeding your baby has been shown to reduce the risk of SIDS. If possible, aim to breastfeed your baby exclusively for the first six months. Additionally, offering a pacifier at bedtime and naptime has been associated with a decreased risk of SIDS. However, if you are breastfeeding, wait until breastfeeding is well established before introducing a pacifier.
